​​For 23 years, the BET Awards has been a cornerstone of Black culture, bringing the biggest celebrities together to create iconic moments.

This year's highly anticipated performers include Lauryn Hill, Childish Gambino, Tyla, Summer Walker, GloRilla, Latto, Sexyy Red, Victoria Monét and more.

The BET Awards air tonight at 8pm EST.


Before tuning in tonight, we took a look back at some of our favorite BET red carpet throwback looks throughout the years.


2003 - Mýa 


This black and white corset and pinstripe pant combo aged like fine wine, paired with a bright red heel and lip by the "Fallen" singer.

2001 -Mary J. Blidge


Everyone's favorite auntie ate down in this slit distressed denim dress at the first BET Awards. To add dimension to the look, a belt and bright boots perfectly matched her signature blonde.
